EVERY YEAR, in the Fassa Valley, on Pordoi Pass DURING THE LAST WEEKEND OF JULY the traditional appointment with Radio Control Soaring is renewed.Professionals and amateurs of this discipline convene on the Pordoi Pass at the "Col del Cuc", to compete with their radio-controlled aircraft in a spectacular airshow, helped only by the force of Nature: the wind. Euromeeting Val di Fassa is a competition open only to radio-controlled gliders and electric powered motor gliders, and has become a tradition among modellers all over the world.

As the Council Member responsible for Tourism of the Independent Province of Trento, it is with great pleasure that I warmly welcome the organisers and participants of the Euromeeting. This international event held in the Fassa Valley at Pordoi Pass is now recognised as the most important in the world. The credit for this certainly should go to the all those who, with their enthusiasm and personal sacrifice, have managed to raise it to this level by providing perfectly efficient services and to the European participants who have always responded in great numbers to this event that has become a date to look forward to on the calendar of those who practise radio-controlled flying. I am also convinced that one of the essential components of this success is the fantastic scenery of Fassa which forms a beautiful natural background to the Euromeeting. All this contributes to bring the Trentino tourist environment to a broader public. I hope that this activity will spread and that other important areas of our land will also become a ground for those who practise aeromodelling and related sports.
