Registration fees
Registration fees for each flight category are
- Euro 15 (to category) if poured within on July 20th
(check/cash/money order) and reached complete of data of registration
- Euro 20 (to category) if poured after on July 20th (or reached with
incomplete data)
Every participant con apply for different categories
but cannot submit more than one model for each category (e. g.: twice:
Gliders).
Participation
All model-aircraft enthusiasts applying for admittance
to the Fassa Valley Euromeeting are requested to posses, the following
documents:
- insurance-policy covering also the duration of competitions
and events.
- radio-control licence
Aerobatic Manoevres
The acrobatic program “Flying is Fun - Val di Fassa,,
that the Competition Manager proposes to participants is merely a suggestion
and is not compulsory.
Competitors are therefore free to perform whatever type
of flying is most suitable for them.
CLASSIFICATION: GLOBAL System Euromeeting
FLIGHT PERFORMANCE
Before the flights, each competitor will be given a small
GSE - Global System Euromeeting data detector (subject to security deposit of € 50.00 which is refunded on return of GSE), supplied by the “Competition
Officials” and weighing approx. 80 g. Competitors will insert
this device into their models so that it can detect various data during
the flight; after landing, these data will be transferred to the competition
officials’ personal computer.
The data automatically stored on the GPS during the permitted
time of 15 minutes will give 7 electronically ascertained assessment
parameters:
| Assessment parameters |
points |
| Max. height
(compared to the take-off point: altitude = 0) |
1000 |
| Max. distance
(between two points on a horizontal plane) |
1000 |
| Max. gain in altitude
(between the min. and maximum heights reached) |
1000 |
| Max. speed
(reached during the flight) |
1000 |
| Min. altitude
(compared to the take-off point: altitude 0) |
1000 |
| Average speed
(average speed during the flight) |
1000 |
| Max. distance
(total flight distance from 'start' to 'stop') |
1000 |
| Maximum score = |
7000 |
The final classification will be drawn up assigning 1000
points to the best result for each assessment parameter reached during
the day.
With regard to the best performance reached
(e.g., maximum height reached during flight), each one will be awarded
in proportion to the scores of the other competitors for that particular
assessment parameter. The model reaching the greatest height on the day,
e.g. 850 metres, compared to the 0 assigned to the take-off point, will
be awarded 1000 points, while the model reaching a height of 450 metres,
for example, will be awarded 500 points and models not taking off will
receive 0 points.
The final classification will come from the sum of points
awarded in the 6 evaluations.
The maximum possible score is 7000 points,
but only in the specific case that a single model reaches maximum performance
in each of the 8 evaluations made among all models flying on that day.
As a result of the use of the Global
System Euromeeting:
- The values detected will no longer be subjective but
objective, since they will have been electronically detected according
to an international standard (GPS and relevant technology, which is
improved continually).
- Each model flyer has a real possibility to find out
the performance of his/her model with certainty, e.g., maximum speed,
maximum height and distance travelled.
- The maximum score of 1000 is a score relevant to weather
conditions on that particular day and to the models competing against
one another; for this reason, it is fair to consider 1000 points for
the best performance on the day.
- The formula using the GPS does not favour, for example,
the assessment of the aesthetic quality of flight and landing, it above
all awards performance.
PENALTIES
No flight shall be performed imprudently or negligently
or in such a way as to endanger the life, safety and property of others: otherwise the obligation to land immediately after the second warning and if they recur, the exclusion from the event.
